Senior Research Fellow – Behaviour, Environment and Cognition Research
Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research, Australian Catholic University

Australian Catholic University Profile

Amanda was instrumental in establishing AirRater in Tasmania in 2015, and she remains actively involved by providing air quality support.

Amanda’s research contributes to answering the question we often get from AirRater users: What can I do to protect myself when outdoor air quality is poor? As an Honorary Research Fellow at University of Tasmania, Amanda is leading several research projects to evaluate the benefits of air quality interventions. These projects include testing whether portable air cleaners improve indoor air quality during bushfires and when there is elevated pollution from wood-heater usage.

Her research on environmental contaminants and human health includes numerous projects on air pollution and health effects. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow at Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research, where she studies the effects of the built environment, air pollution and noise on the cognitive health of older adults.
