PhD Student / candidate
University of Tasmania
Lachy researches what kinds of aeroallergens (including pollen) are in Tasmania, and which of these trigger hay fever and asthma symptoms. He was recently awarded a Fulbright Future Scholarship to study techniques in aerobiology and impacts on human health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, and plans to bring his skills back to Australia to build on the work the AirRater Team is doing.
Lachy studied botany and biomedicine prior to joining AirRater, and his research in Melbourne played an important role in understanding the distribution of pollen during the 2016 Thunderstorm Asthma epidemic.
