University of Tasmania Profile

Sharon was instrumental in establishing AirRater in Tasmania in 2015, and she remains actively involved by providing additional communication and user support. She is currently completing a PhD investigating the impact of climate-related extreme events on the Tasmanian healthcare system at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research.

Sharon also plays a lead role in the response to bushfire and extreme heat events at Public Health Services at the Tasmanian Department of Health. Sharon’s dual roles in medical research and public health have helped her to create research that responds to public health questions of interest, and then apply this evidence in policy and practice.
