The App is collecting your information as part of a University of Tasmania led research project known as the Sense-T Air Rater Project (the “Project”). To use the core functionality of the App, you must first complete a registration process. During registration, you will be required to provide personal information such as your name and email address. You may also choose to provide information about your health, including information about particular health symptoms.

Researchers will use your information as part of the Project, including developing personalised alerts for you.

Information about your symptoms may be aggregated with other similar information collected, and used in ways that do not personally identify you. This type of aggregated information may be used by the researchers to gain a better understanding of the impact of environmental conditions upon the health status of a population.

We will not rent or sell your information to third parties. Any identifiable information collected about you in connection with this study will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission. You will not be identified in any of the documents published about the study.

Your information will be stored on databases managed by the University of Tasmania.

All records will be accessible only to named investigators on the project. Your information will only be used for the purpose described. If we would like to use any of your information for any other purpose, now or in the future, we will contact you again to ask for your permission. You can request that your data be withdrawn from the study at any stage.

Your information will be stored for a minimum of five years, so that we will be able to contact you about future research projects. You do not have to give permission for your data to be stored. We will permanently remove all identifying information from your data after holding it for the required minimum of five years from completion of the research in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council and the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 (Tas).

Can I opt-out?
